STRATEGIES TO KEEP EMPLOYEES HAPPIER AT WORKPLACE

According to various studies research shows that the happier person is more productive than others.

Happy People = Happy Organization = Productive Organization = Profitable Organization

So happiness leads to productivity and the more productive the people are the more profitable the business is.

According to Shawn Achor, a leading happiness researcher happy people are 37% more productive than unhappy people.

As a business owner make sure and take efforts to keep your employees happier.

Here are a few strategies you can implement in your business to keep people happier

1.   EXPRESSING GRATITUDE

Encourage people to express gratitude to each other on daily basis. Make it a ritual at your workplace every morning or before leaving the office in the evening, people express gratitude to others who helped that day.

You can also introduce gratitude prayer which everyone can recite together at a particular time every day for eg. At the start of the day or after lunch.

Encourage people to write gratitude journals on daily basis. They can write 5 to 10 things they are grateful for in their life.

2.    CONNECTION TIME

Have a tea-coffee break time where people connect with each other and express themselves; in this way, they will know each other better and they will develop friendship at workplace and studies has proven that those who have a close friend at the workplace tend to be happier.

3.    CELEBRATE WINS

Celebrate each and every accomplishment of your team members or team whether it be micro (small) or Macro (Big). I do not mean organizing parties or big celebrations; it can be acknowledgment in front of others and cheering together. Celebrating wins will generate positive emotions.

4.    FLEXIBLE HOURS

Flexible working hours refer to the schedule which allows employees to start and finish their workday when they want. This means that employees can come to work earlier or later than the set time. Some people are at their best in the morning and some people are at their best in the evening. Keeping flexible hours will give choice to employees and they will deliver their best and will make them happier.

5.    MEDITATION AND MINDFULNESS

Various studies have proved that sitting quietly in one place for a few minutes can release happy chemicals in our bodies.

Encourage people to start their working hours by doing meditation for 5 minutes and if you have space at your workplace you can dedicate one room or a place for doing meditation. Meditation boosts focus and concentration and in turn employees will become more productive and their efficiency will increase

Implement the above strategies at your workplace and make your employees even happier.
